As 2025 draws to a close, the TurfMutt Foundation is taking a moment to "paws" and reflect. From finding forever homes for rescue pups to celebrating the best green spaces in the country, it has been a banner year for our mission to change the world one yard at a time.

Here are the top five highlights from 2025:

Waterfront Park Wins USA Today Readers’ Choice Award for Best Riverwalk
We’ve always known it was special, but now it’s official! Louisville’s Waterfront Park, home of the TurfMutt Great Lawn, was named #1 Riverwalk in the United States in the USA Today 2025 Readers’ Choice awards. As the home of our spokesdog, Mulligan the TurfMutt, we couldn’t be prouder of this urban oasis.

TurfMutt Survey Proves Power of Public Green Spaces
Our 2025 survey, conducted by The Harris Poll, confirmed what we’ve long suspected. Americans love their parks. The data shows:

• 89% of Americans consider a good public park system a top community amenity.
• 96% of people use public green spaces, like public parks, for recreation.
• 89% believe communities should prioritize providing these spaces for community health and well-being.

Mulligan the TurfMutt Welcomes Record-Breaking Crowds to Equip Exposition 2025
In October, Mulligan the TurfMutt helped finalize plans for the award-winning Equip Exposition, where she greeted a record-breaking number of outdoor industry professionals. As one of the five largest tradeshows in the U.S., Equip Expo continues to be the heart of the outdoor living and landscape industry.

13 Dogs Find Forever Homes at Mulligan’s Mutt Madness
One of the most beloved events at Equip Exposition every year, Mulligan’s Mutt Madness pet adoption event helped 13 rescue dogs find new homes with Equip attendees. The star of Lucky Dog, Brandon McMillan, was on hand to meet adopters. Since it started in 2018, more than 110 lucky dogs have found their homes with attendees.
