Meet September's Mutt of the Month, Charlie

September’s Mutt of the Month takes us all the way back to the beginning of the national Mutt Madness pet adoption event. Charlie was one of the 11 lucky dogs who found their fur-ever homes at the very first Mutt Madness in 2018. Since the event started, more than 100 dogs have been matched with their new families.

“We didn’t know if we needed a dog since we were still adjusting to married life, but when we picked him up, we never put him down,” said Charlie’s adopter, Chelsey. “It was love at first sight.”

Chelsey said Charlie was a friendly “fireball” as a puppy. “His wild side is with my husband, and he’s calmer and more loving with me,” she said. Chelsey adds that Charlie loves to be outside and spends as much time as possible in the couple’s backyard.

The 2025 Mulligan’s Mutt Madness will be held at Equip Expo in Louisville on Thursday, October 23. If you’re registered for Equip, we look forward to seeing you at the event!
