TurfMutt Celebrates Pups on National Mutt Day & Beyond

July 31 is National Mutt Day, a time to celebrate the unique, one-of-a-kind dogs that fill our lives with joy. Here at the TurfMutt Foundation, every day is Mutt Day!

The TurfMutt Foundation “spokesdogs” have always been rescue mutts. Our first superhero was Lucky, who was found on an Indiana highway by TurfMutt Foundation president and CEO Kris Kiser. Lucky became the face of our mission, teaching families across the country about the importance of our yards and parks.

After Lucky passed, Kris adopted our new spokesdog Mulligan at the 2019 Mutt Madness pet adoption event. This event is an annual highlight of the award-winning Equip Exposition trade show. Hosted in partnership with Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), the event has matched over 100 dogs with their forever families.

We don’t just find home for mutts, we also raise funds for KHS at the annual Mulligan’s 5K Fun Run & Walk, sponsored by Active Dynamics. Register for this year’s 5K here.
