TurfMutt’s Erosion Experiment Lesson Plan

For parents who want to keep their kids learning – and entertained! – over the winter break, it’s TurfMutt to the rescue. The TurfMutt Foundation has a wealth of free online STEM-based resources that can be easily downloaded. 

For example, TurfMutt’s Erosion Experiment is targeted to kids in grades 3-5. In this lesson, kids help TurfMutt fight Dust Demon, one of the environmental bad guys. He makes the soil around us disappear and pollute the air by a process called erosion.

The lesson encourages kids to learn about plants that are superheroes like TurfMutt to destroy Dust Demon and his pal Carbon Creep. Check out this free lesson here.
