July’s Mutt of the Month comes to us from the 2022 Mulligan’s Mutt Madness adoption event, which was held in Louisville as part of the Equip Exposition trade show. Prince – a German shepherd and corgi mix – was about three months old when he was adopted by Chris, who was volunteering with his company, Chewy, at the tradeshow.

Chris says he didn’t go to Equip Expo expecting to adopt a new best friend. “I met him and just fell in love with the little guy,” Chris remembers. “The process of adopting him at the event was extremely simple and fast.”

Chris lives in Louisville, so transporting Prince home was no issue at all. Chris reports that Prince has adjusted well to his new home. “He's extremely playful and super loveable. He enjoys sleeping at the foot of the bed, and has no issues sleeping through the night.”

Chris also has a cat named Dax. “At first, Dax was a little hesitant, and Prince was very interested. But Dax has been around dogs before, so I had zero doubts they would become great pals,” says Chris.

Prince was one of 15 dogs who found their forever homes at Mutt Madness in 2022. In total, the event has matched more than 50 dogs – including our own Mulligan the TurfMutt – with their new families since it started.
